Austin, Texas (#AustinJaggs)

Austin, TX

I mean if there is a place to eat and love life, this is it.

Where we stayed: We have been there three times and all three times we have rented a house off of VRBO. This is the way to go (I always say that)! https://www.airbnb.com/rooms/705858

Location: South Congress is money money money. You are near all of the hot spots, music, fun, and food.

Where we ate:
  • Phonecia Bakery and Deli- Get the Zatar Bread on your way into Austin from the airport. It looks run down and it looks a little sketchy but what is not sketchy is the food
  • Food truck trailer park (lunch) Torchys tacos- Wow. Wow. Wow. Go here now.
  • CU29 Cocktail Bar- This was okay, I wouldnt go back
  • Easy Tiger- Did you say biergarten and good food and a bake shop
  • SFC Farmers Market (422 Guadalupe St.)- Get a taste of what the locals do on Saturdays!
  • Bangers beer house and sausage- Beer, sausages, nothing but a good time
  • Austin Beer Works- Good beer and vibe
  • Austin Beer Garden and Brewing Company
  • G'Raj Mahal Cafe -  (BYOB)- They have built a new place now that is not a food truck, we didnt make it here becauce we drank too much (shocker) but we hear it is unreal
  • Whole Foods Headquaters- Unlike your normal Whole Foods, this place is a small city
  • Salt Lick BBQ- Want to have the best day of your life with BBQ and BYOB, then go here. It is amazing. Thank me now or later
  • Ramen Tatsu- Claims the best ramen in the country, it is. Stand in line. Do it.
  • East Side King- Holy.... amazing
  • Home Slice- Great pizza
  • Wright Bros. Brew & Brew- excellent coffee shop and lots of brews on tap. Really love it here and the people!
  • Rainey Street Bars & Restaurants- plan so spend your Sunday Funday here. It is a small neighborhood street turned into really really really cute bars and good food. You will not want to leave!

What we did:
  • Barton Springs Bike rental- Do what the locals are doing and go moving on the bikes. It is fun, cheap, and you get to be a local
  • Botanical Gardens- Something that dosen't have to do with drinking is always a plus
  • Out by Salt Like (BBQ) there are a few vineyards you can go to, we did and it was great fun. Okay (not terrible) wines. Really pretty and VERY Texas out there

Looking Back:
  • I want to move to Austin. My husband wants to move to Austin. You cant go wrong. Just pick your lunches and dinners, make reservations and Austin takes care of the rest.
