Ile d'Orleans (Quebec), Canada (#JaggsMoon)

Honeymoon Party II

Okay this was a treat a gem of a place. So if you are visiting Quebec City then plan to make this a day/night trip! This entire island lives off of what is produced and farmed on the island. And you can taste/smell it in everything they do.

Where we ate:
  • Les Ancetres- every single thing on the menu comes locally from the island. Y.E.S. Yes

What we did:

  • Isle De Bacchus- vineyard/winery with a beautiful tasting room and not too shabby wines
  • Cassis Monna & Files- produces black currant ciders and cordials. They are so good, buy a few bottles here and do a tasting
  • Vignoble Sainte-Petronille- another great vineyard!
  • Cidrerie- Just what is sounds like, cider on cider on apples on apples! We did some apple picking and hard cider tasting. Did I mention they have my favorite treat, homemade apple butter?!
  • Pub Le Mitan Microbrasserie D'Orl- This please is perfect to get a feel for the local food scene. Try the local beers, get the french onion soup, and sit on the deck and breathe in the air. It is on the left hand side of the road as you are on the island, right after the cutest church (pictures below).

Where we stayed:

  • Dans Les Bras Morphee B & B- this is the cutest little B&B we have every stayed in. It is run by a husband and wife who are just the cutest. Their home is on a huge farm with lots of places to explore. But the main event is their breakfast, can you say pate and croissants (HOMEMADE)! Yum, yum, yum. And it is really quite so it is peaceful. O yes, and ask if you can have your breakfast at a private table by the window, wish we could have done that but some couple that would not stop making out got to it first.
